2. For US donors through Give2Asia

U.S. taxpayers who wish to make tax-deductible contributions to benefit East Bali Poverty Project (EBPP) can do so through Give2Asia (G2A), a U.S.-based social enterprise that is able to provide a cost effective means for channelling philanthropic contributions to charities in Asia, in full compliance with U.S. law

Contributions may be made in several ways including on-line using PayPal or a credit card To donate with a check, money order, wire transfer, or securities transfer, please complete the form and mail to: Give2Asia, 600 California Street 11th Floor, San Francisco, CA 94108. You can also email a completed form to or fax to 415.967.6290. For instructions please see

G2A is classified by the Internal Revenue Service as a public charity exempt from U.S. Federal Income Tax under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. As such, contributions to G2A for the benefit of EBPP are fully tax-deductible in the United States.  Details including copies of G2A’s IRS exemption letter and Employer Identification Number are available on its website at .

G2A assumes the legal and administrative responsibility for complying with U.S. law regarding the transfer of tax-deductible funds to charitable entities like EBPP that are located outside the United States. In order to qualify as a fund authorized to receive grants through G2A, EBPP must provide audited statements of account and other information on a regular basis to G2A and submit to inspections by G2A’s local representatives in Indonesia.  By working with G2A, EBPP is able to provide our U.S. donors with the ability to make tax-deductible contributions as well as the assurance that their contributions are used for the purposes intended.

To cover the cost of administration and compliance, G2A withholds a small and decreasing percentage (ranging from 7% of the first $100,000; 2% of the next $400,000, and so on) from the total amount of funds transferred annually to EBPP.  In our view this is a fair and reasonable amount and, for a small organization like ours, is a much more cost effective method of complying with US law than creating and administering our own non-profit organization in the United States.
