My experience with East Bali Poverty Project

28 June 2017

I volunteered at EBPP from April 2017-June 2017 having made the decision to leave a corporate environment for a while to experience work within the charity sector for thesecond time of my life. I’ve been already working for Indian charity organization in Kolkata for a few months and since this first experience I’m really into impacting positively people through my work.

The actual volunteering is very rewarding, even though it can be tough at times, but the greatest part of volunteering is the chance to be part of something bigger than yourself.

Therefore I really enjoyed my time at EBPP. I was very impressed at how much is achieved by such a “small team” of people.

I was in charged of the social media in order to set up a lasting synergy between all our different platforms. I had also created a fundraising video about our toilet project. I had opportunities to contribute to the team’s efforts in a variety of ways, but also gained valuable knowledge, skills and experience.

One of the highlights of my experience was working alongside a dedicated and supportive team who was always keen to share their experiences and advice. In addition, everyone has been consistently welcoming, and always tried to include me in many activities. I can honestly say that I had not expected such prolonged friendliness and hospitality.

Volunteering with EBPP was a brilliant experience and one that I would highly recommend for everyone looking rewarding experiences. I have met some incredible people, and felt part of a really supportive and lovely community.

Special thank to David for his amazing stories and to the whole team of EBPP!

Keep going the amazing work and wish all the best!
