“The Art of Learning by Doing”,an educational art story book of 7 chapters about the lives of the children in East Bali Poverty Project’s (EBPP) schools in mountainous East Bali. This book, kindly sponsored by The Annika Linden Foundation (http://www.alfoundation.org) , is a true story of the children from before they started school to when they graduated, and is illustrated by 105 full colour art works by the children themselves, 80 of the works by boys and 25 by girls. The story is in both English and Indonesian and designed as a resource book for children, parents and teachers with simple lessons on introducing health, nutrition, organic vegetable gardening and other life skills to children in practical, meaningful and enjoyable ways.
This guidebook is more than an English language text book for Indonesian students, or an Indonesian language text book for English students. It is designed as a tool to help teachers of children in English and Indonesian speaking schools, to improve their language language skills whilst discovering the meaning of and learning to implement sustainable development and poverty eradication. This book is designed as a Guidebook to the bilingual book “The Art of Learning by Doing” a story about the under privileged children of a remote and impoverished region high on the arid eastern slopes of Bali`s Mount Agung and Abang.
