Annual ENT Programme: Supporting Children’s Ear Health

By: Yusli Harini, Health Team Leader

There is a severe shortage of Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) doctors in our local health services, leading to a neglect of ear health in our community. Environmental conditions, especially for children, make them more susceptible to ear problems.

To address this issue, EBPP continues our partnership with YPK Bali through the Bali Rungu program, providing annual ear exams to all school children in Ban Village. Our recent ENT program took place at SD 1 Ban (elementary school) and the Harum Sari Kindergarten, benefiting 224 children, over two days: September 26th and October 3rd.

The children were excited and thankful for this service, which they can only access once a year. They also received informative booklets about ear health, helping them understand its importance. This initiative is a significant step towards prioritizing ear health and improving the children's quality of life in Ban Village.
