Here’s the story of our 79th Independence Day of Indonesia celebration

By I Made Suarjana, Education Team Coordinator.

The day began with a solemn flag-raising ceremony to honor the heroes who fought for our freedom. But soon after, the excitement kicked off with a series of competitions! Bunga's team bounced to victory in the Sack Race, while Darmaji’s team swept nearly every event, from the Triangle Tug of War to the Water Relay, Coin Pulling, and even the Painting competition.

Our cultural performances were a true highlight. The traditional Balinese dance 'Puspanjali' set the tone, followed by an inspiring poetry reading. A Balinese comedy drama that tackled the serious issue of child marriage brought laughter and reflection, while the Kecak dance-drama mesmerized the audience. Our students also showcased their talents in singing and dancing, earning a standing ovation.

The most thrilling moment? The slippery Bamboo Pole Challenge, where participants gave it their all amidst cheers and laughter. The day ended with prizes for our champions—Darmaji team took the overall win, with Bunga and Cegi close behind! Thanks to everyone who made this celebration unforgettable. Let’s carry this spirit forward as we work towards a brighter future!
