Every year on 28 October, we commemorate Youth Pledge Day, a reminder of the unity and spirit of young people who helped shape Indonesia's history. For us, the Youth Pledge is not just a part of history to remember, but also an inspiration for what we can do today.

As young people, we have an important role in keeping our culture alive. At EBPP School, we learn about local arts and culture in our Arts and Culture lessons. We learn about traditional arts, passed down from our ancestors through generations. These lessons help us understand our cultural heritage and appreciate the traditions that are part of our identity.

However, we realise that some young people are losing interest in local traditions! This makes us reflect on the importance of keeping our culture alive and introducing it to the next generation. We believe that preserving culture can start with simple actions, such as learning more about our traditions, taking part in cultural activities, and encouraging our friends to appreciate our heritage. We also express our ideas about cultural preservation through our school wall magazine. Through this activity, we share messages about the importance of protecting our cultural heritage.

For me, preserving culture means respecting our differences, appreciating our cultural heritage, and taking action to keep our traditions alive; moreover, as young people, we have an important role to play in preserving our culture and passing it on to future generations.
