From Sponsoring a Student to Supporting a Community
When Bill Zammit, a supporter from Australia, started sponsoring Nyos, our Bunga School graduate, to pursue a university degree in Public Health, he was investing in a young person’s future. Now, as Nyos enters his final year with outstanding academic progress, Bill has found another way to make a difference: supporting Nyo’s community for better sanitation.
In Bunga Hamlet, some families have never had their own toilets and still rely on the surrounding bushes for sanitation. Through Bill’s generous donation, EBPP is the process of building individual toilet-bathroom blocks for seven young families, helping them access a more private and hygienic place to meet a basic daily need with dignity.
The work is already underway. Two toilets are completed, another two are under construction, and three more are next in line. Each completed toilet brings a practical improvement to a family’s daily life.
We are very grateful to Bill for extending his support beyond Nyos’s university education to the wellbeing of his wider community. His generosity is helping turn a personal connection into a lasting, tangible benefit for families in Bunga Hamlet.
Follow EBPP for updates as we complete all seven toilets!
