Proper sanitation is one of the most essential basic needs for family health, especially children. Limited access to sanitation facilities often leads to various preventable health issues, such as diarrhea, fever, skin infections, and other sanitation-related diseases.
In Ban Village, many families still do not have access to basic sanitation facilities such as toilets and thus some community members are forced to use nearby bushes around their homes. This situation not only poses serious health risks to families but also negatively affects environmental cleanliness and the overall quality of life in the community.
Recognizing the importance of access to proper sanitation for everyone, the East Bali Poverty Project, in collaboration with PT Mitra Prodin’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, is supporting the construction of 42 toilet/bathroom blocks in several remote mountain hamlets: Dusun Darmaji, 11; Manikaji Puncak, 14; Manikaji Asti, 9; and Manikaji Kaliaga, 8. Construction has already begun in Darmaji hamlet and will continue gradually in the other hamlets.
Since 2010, EBPP has facilitated the construction of 1,262 toilet blocks, benefitting 1,515 Ban Village families. These sanitation facilities play a crucial role in improving family health, promoting hygiene, and creating a cleaner and healthier living environment.
We extend our sincere gratitude to PT Mitra Prodin for its care and commitment in supporting improved health outcomes for rural communities.
