In April, students in Darmaji continued turning knowledge into action through hands-on learning in their individual gardens and the shared learning garden 🌱
With guidance from Pak Dwi from Yayasan Bumi Langit and EBPP agriculture team, students’ intensive mentoring sessions focused on improving their dryland agriculture techniques for evaluating terraces, waterways, and land slope conditions directly in the field, providing them with a better understand of how to improve their land independently.
Students actively participated in replanting vegetables, installing stakes for long beans, weeding, fertilising, sowing vegetable seeds, mixing compost, and monitoring rainfall and temperature in the learning garden. Through regular discussion sessions, they also reflected on the challenges they faced and worked together to find practical solutions.
The positive changes can be seen as several students have started achieving satisfying harvests and applying sustainable farming practices with growing confidence. Through this collaboration, students continue building practical skills that can support food security, improve family nutrition, and create economic opportunities for their families and communities going forward.
We once again express our deepest gratitude to the CSR Program of PT Mitra Prodin for supporting this meaningful journey of learning and growth.
Let’s support more sustainable learning opportunities for rural communities!
