On 2 January, hurricane-force winds destroyed our Manikaji School roof - that was newly replaced in February 2022 after being destroyed by the October 2021 earthquake, using eco-friendly GoGreen corrugated sheets, ripping off part of the roof and damaging the rest.
We have started to prepare building materials and are currently working together with community members - and our students, who are eager to get back to school - to replace the roof, which we hope - with your help - to complete by the beginning of next week, weather permitting!
We need USD 2,700 to repair the entire school: replacing the entire roof with corrugated zinc sheets, reinforcing the roof structure and replacing some of the classroom ceilings.
