For two meaningful weeks, EBPP once again became a space for learning, collaboration, and reflection with the return of our volunteer, Chris Franklin. This visit marked his fifth time at EBPP, continuing a long-term partnership that has steadily grown through shared practice, trust, and reflection.
Chris first introduced cooperative learning in 2024, as an invitation to rethink classroom interaction and student engagement. Over time, teachers explored, adapted, and applied these ideas in ways that suited their own classrooms. During this visit, the focus moved beyond introduction toward strengthening and affirming the success of cooperative learning as part of everyday teaching practice.
Through interactive workshops, teachers revisited key cooperative learning strategies and shared real classroom experiences. Many reflected on noticeable changes: students working more confidently in groups, speaking more freely, and showing greater motivation to participate. These observations offered clear evidence of how collaborative learning has taken root across EBPP classrooms.
In addition to working with teachers, Chris also facilitated a focused workshop for EBPP local primary school tutors. This session centered on effective literacy instruction, emphasizing structured, level-appropriate approaches that support understanding rather than rote learning. The discussions reinforced how strong literacy teaching and cooperative learning naturally complement one another.
Throughout the two weeks, open discussions and reflection sessions created space for honest dialogue, shared challenges, and collective learning. These moments strengthened a sense of professional community and highlighted how much progress has been made through consistent effort and collaboration.
This fifth visit marked an important moment of consolidation and confidence. While the program lasted only two weeks, its impact continues to influence teaching and learning practices at EBPP. We extend our sincere thanks to Chris Franklin for his continued commitment and look forward to welcoming him back again in the future.
