School buildings provide the main learning environment for students, and the condition of the school greatly influences their comfort when learning. For quite some time, EBPP’s Darmaji School has faced problems of deteriorating building condition, including gypsum ceilings becoming brittle and more especially the previously sunshine yellow paint on the walls has faded and started to peel because it hasn’t been updated in quite a long time!
Thanks to a generous grant from the Rotary Club of Bali Seminyak for painting Darmaji School, our students enthusiastically gathered at their school last Monday, 19th of June, and after receiving all the paints, brushes, rollers, etc., our teachers divided them into several groups, each with a different task, and all students enthusiastically got to work on their respective painting activity. They worked hard painting the walls, doors, window frames and ceilings - and completed everything within one week!
Now, with the school painted all white, except for the doors, looks fresh and clean and our students were thrilled to see the results of their work and super very happy, since their new semester will start in early July. They feel very enthusiastic in starting learning in a new and fresh environment.
We would like to express our gratitude to The Rotary Club of Bali Seminyak who facilitated this. Because of their support, all students can study comfortably and have a supportive environment. Their donations have brought happiness and given new hope to the students at the school. •
