I’m Murdika, a 12th Grade EBPP Manikaji School students who got to experience the online classes because of the Covid-19 pandemic. I’m in senior year of high school and as a student, I could say that online learning wasn’t easy. It was often hard for me to understand the lesson since I didn’t get to hear the teacher’s explanation directly. Besides, learning at home made it difficult to maintain my focus because of some distractions such as bad phone signals, or noisy and uncomfortable surroundings. Despite all the difficulties, I never felt demotivated to continue learning.
On 2nd February 2022, EBPP Manikaji School renovation after the serious damage caused by the earthquake last October was finally completed. After the school was safe to be used, face to face learning activity was done while still following strict Covid-19 health protocols. However, with the rapid spread of the Omicron variant, we had to return classes back into online-based learning on 7th February - after only 3 days in the classroom!
I hope this pandemic will end soon, so we can meet face to face again inside the classroom. Lastly, I want to express my gratefulness towards all the EBPP teachers who never stop giving us their best in teaching even during this difficult situation. •
