Today We Celebrate Kartini Day!

By: Dita Anggraeni, English Teacher

21st of April is Kartini Day in Indonesia, commemorating the birth in 1879 of Raden Ajeng Kartini, one of Indonesia’s national heroes. Her name is written in history as a figure who fought for women’s rights and gender equality. Hence, more than just a historical day, Kartini Day holds an important meaning, especially for Indonesian women.

There are a lot of women who work in EBPP Education team. They come from different backgrounds and hold different significant roles in the team. Despite those differences, they stand together for one mission: to bring a brighter future for people through education.

They go to EBPP schools every day to share their knowledge; not only relating to academic subjects, but also morality, so that their students could grow into better people in society. Damaged roads, dust, sun blazing, or heavy rain never stopped them carrying out their duties. Through their dedication, we could see how the spirit of Raden Ajeng Kartini has never left the hearts of Indonesian women.

We hope that their heartfelt hard work could inspire their students and the people around them to continue their education to secure a better future for them, their families and their communities.
