In the eastern foothills of Mount Agung and Mount Abang, the soft sounds of music drift from the learning spaces of EBPP students. From the hands of children who had never touched a musical instrument before, now grows a powerful passion to dream and achieve more.

Learning music is no longer just an extracurricular activity; for EBPP students, music has become a new way to express themselves, build confidence, and unite as a community. This growing spirit was sparked by an inspiring performance by their older peers at The Battle of the Bands, a prestigious event at Canggu School just a few months ago.

Their confident performance became a source of motivation for younger students. Now, more and more students are eager to learn music and are making impressive progress. As their music teacher, I was amazed by how quickly they picked things up. Many of them had never even held a guitar or percussion instrument before, yet within less than a month, they were already able to perform simple demonstrations in class.

The lessons follow a gradual approach, starting with an introduction to instruments, followed by learning musical notes, basic chords, and techniques for playing tempo. The goal is not only for students to play music, but also to understand what they’re playing – and enjoy their new found passion!

Music has become a bridge of hope, a source of motivation, and a symbol of unity for the students. Amidst limited resources, music education is opening up new opportunities for EBPP children to grow in confidence and dare to dream big.
