Preparing for Indonesia’s Independence Day celebrations on 17th August at EBPP School has been an exciting and meaningful experience for all of us. As Independence Day approaches, we have been working together to prepare for the formal ceremony and many different activities. School feels more exciting when everyone gets involved and we look forward to celebrating Indonesia’s Independence Day together.
The preparations also bring students closer: some of us practice for the flag ceremony, while others prepare for performances and different activities. Even though everyone has different roles, we all share the same goal: to make this celebration meaningful and enjoyable. Through these preparations, the students learn to cooperate, support one another, and take responsibility for their part.
For EBPP students, Independence Day is more than just a celebration; it is a time to remember the struggles and sacrifices of the heroes who fought for Indonesia’s independence; and an opportunity for young people to appreciate the freedom they have today and understand the importance of using it wisely.
This experience shows us that independence means freedom to learn, grow, develop our talents, and dream about our futures. We can celebrate freedom by using opportunities and supporting one another. We hope the spirit of Independence Day inspires us to work, respect each other, so we can become a generation that can make a positive difference. For me, celebrating independence means appreciating the past while using our freedom to build a better future together.
