EBPP’s extracurricular music program took an exciting step forward this semester, expanding from modern music to including traditional Balinese music—especially Rindik, a bamboo instrument known for its soft, calming tones. Although Rindik is new to our students, many showed immediate interest and enthusiasm to learn.

Every afternoon, after completing their academic lessons, students come down to the EBPP Ban office for practice. They begin with the basics: recognizing pitches across the 11–13 bamboo bars, coordinating both hands, and trying simple rhythmic patterns. It may seem challenging at first, but this is exactly what keeps them motivated. With each session, their confidence and curiosity continue to grow.

The students are also working toward a clear goal: performing Rindik at upcoming EBPP events such as National Education Day, the Grade 12 graduation event, Independence Day celebrations, and other school activities. These targets encourage them to stay focused, practice consistently, and take ownership of their progress.

More than just learning an instrument, this activity helps nurture cultural appreciation and teamwork while strengthening their pride in Balinese identity.

Through their dedication, the Rindik becomes more than a tradition—it becomes a living expression of culture carried forward by the students themselves!
