I am very happy to learn about organic farming at school. Through this program, we are taught how to farm our steep and dry land using natural materials without pesticides or harmful chemicals, making it safer for both human health and the environment. For me, organic farming is not only about growing crops, but also about protecting nature and preserving it for the future.
At first, we learned in the Manikaji school garden, studying many important skills, including building terraces, making organic compost, proper planting techniques, and harvesting methods. Through these activities, I gained a lot of new experiences and a deeper understanding of the importance of sustainable regenerative agriculture for community life.
After a year of learning, we began applying this knowledge in our own gardens, and I’m now developing regenerative farming practices on my family’s land. Although the results have not yet been as successful as those in the school garden, I have never given up. Instead, I feel even more motivated to continue learning, trying new methods, and achieving better results.
Currently, we are also learning together with local farmer groups. Alongside friends and community members, we plant various fruit trees and vegetables whose harvests can be shared and enjoyed together.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the Finns Bali Social Fund, and through their support, I hope the knowledge I gain will benefit my future and help improve the well-being of the surrounding community.
