EBPP Students: From Practice to Performance

Every afternoon after school, the sweet sound of guitars, cajon, bass, and students’ voices could be heard drifting from EBPP Ban Office, as EBPP’s ‘modern music’ group practiced together for their special performance on National Education Day, 2nd of May.
What made this journey very special was that most of the students were complete beginners in music not long ago. Some were still learning basic guitar chords, while others struggled to remember lyrics and follow the tempo. However, with passion, teamwork, and almost one month of daily practice, they grew more confident each day.
They created and performed five original acoustic songs about teachers, education, village life, and protecting Mother Earth. The music arrangements were made simple so the students could enjoy learning and performing together. Using acoustic instruments such as guitars, bass, cajon, and shakers, they turned simple practice sessions into meaningful and enjoyable musical experiences.
The journey was not always easy. During rehearsals, students sometimes played the wrong chords, forgot lyrics, or felt nervous about performing on stage. Still, they continued practicing and supporting one another. For them, music became more than just performing — it became a lesson about courage, discipline, and confidence!
Finally, on May 2nd, all their hard work came to life on stage at the EBPP Daya school field. One by one, the students performed proudly, in front of teachers, friends, and guests. Their nervousness rapidly disappeared as the audience applauded, sang along and enjoyed their performances.
This event proved that even beginner students can create something beautiful when they are given support, opportunity, and believe in themselves.
