Joining a mixed-gender competition at EBPP School has been one of the most exciting and memorable experiences I have ever had. It is the first time I have had the opportunity to play on the same team with both boys and girls, and I feel proud to be part of this event.
Until now, I had mostly seen sports competitions separated by gender. Because of this, participating in a mixed-gender competition made me realize that girls and boys can play together, support one another, and work as a team to achieve the same goal.
I am also very grateful to be a student at EBPP School. Here, we are not only given equal opportunities to participate in sports activities, but gender equality is also included in our academic learning. Through these lessons, I have come to understand that girls and boys have the same rights, opportunities, and potential to succeed in many areas, including education, sports, leadership, and everyday life.
This experience reminded me that when we are given equal opportunities, we discover our strengths, build confidence, and learn to appreciate one another's abilities. I hope that everyone, especially the people in my community, will support and encourage activities that promote inclusion, respect, and equal participation, so that gender equality becomes a natural part of everyday life.
Follow our journey as we continue creating equal learning opportunities for children in remote East Bali.
